The finite-element model

The LIRA-FEM (LIRA-SAPR) software is used for the static analysis of buildings and structures. The analysis is made by finite element method (FEM).

Problem analysis process

Static analysis implies the linear or non-linear analysis of structure under the influence of static loads, such as dead weight, pavement load, snow load, wind load, etc.

Static analysis of the building or structure can be conducted from individual loads (load cases) or from its combinations of DCF and DCL

Analysis results

The results of static analysis are:

The displacements in nodes of the structure. The deformations can be analysed based on the impact of individual loads (Load cases) or their combinations - DCL. Note: deformations based on DCF analysis cannot be analysed.

Forces in the bars

Forces in bar, single-node, and special elements. The analysis of forces can be carried out from the impact of individual loads (load cases) as well as from their combinations (DCF and DCL).

Stresses in the plates

The stresses in plate elements. The analysis of stresses can be carried out from the impact of individual loads (load cases) as well as from their combinations (DCF and DCL).

The representation of results in graphic and tabular formats

You can browse the results of static analysis in graphic format: in the form of mosaic plot or diagram for bars, mosaic plot or contour plot for plates; or tabular format.

Linear solver

Static analysis, the library of finite elements, the full dynamic analysis, floor (node) response spectra, seismic, wind pulsation, and super-elements. This is included in all default configurations of LIRA-FEM software.

Nonlinear solver

Engineering nonlinearity, physical nonlinearity, structural nonlinearity, geometric nonlinearity, pushover analysis
